Job Description

The Role

As an In-Work Support Partner, you will provide effective on and off the job support and training to customers, ensuring individuals are supported in building confidence and productivity and in developing their skills to assist in maintaining meaningful employment. You will work alongside customers and their employers, being solution focused, identifying workplace supports and training that enhances confidence in task completion, and negotiate adjustments to hours or work tasks through great employer relationships.

With a large component of this role based around building and maintaining relationships with both customer and employers, this role requires a combination of being on the road and in the office. Importantly, you will collaborate with other Maxima staff, working as part of a wider cohesive team. 

You will...

  • Meet individual and team key performance targets  
  • Build and maintain strong, trusting relationships with customers to support their employment journey
  • Provide career planning, coaching and guidance to customers enabling achievement of long-term career success and further progression/career development in employment ensuring sustainability
  • Provide regular individually tailored support to customers both on and off the job while in employment  
  • Provide regular support to Employers to maintain and maximise the employment of customers, and build employer confidence in hiring people with disabilities
  • Ensure supports are tailored to the needs of the customer and the employer
  • Advocate for Customers to ensure their rights are protected and their voices are heard in matters relating to employment services
  • Identify professional and personal barriers that may impact customer performance or confidence, and assist customers in overcoming those barriers to sustain employment
  • Ensure all required documentary evidence is compliant and up to date
  • Generate additional employment opportunities with current employers through effective and engaging supports
  • Provide coaching and career planning to enhance customer skills and long-term success.

In this role you will work between our Morwell and Warragul offices. 

Desired Skills and Experience

What will you need to succeed?

You will have exceptional negotiation and relationship building skills, with the ability to influence and advocate the importance of diversity in the workforce. Coupled with your excellent communication skills, you will be able to adapt quickly in a past paced role, offering creative solutions to both customers and employers.

You will have: 

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse customer groups and stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving, organisational and time management skills
  • A commitment to promoting diversity, inclusion and equal opportunity in the workplace
  • A willingness to undertake ongoing training and professional development  
  • Caseload management experience is desirable
  • Current driver’s licence (required)
  • National police check, relevant State/Territory working with children check and NDIS Worker’s Clearance, or be willing to obtain.
